Rank 3: Thousand Sons
The Thousand Sons follow the Chaos God Tzeentch and their Primarch Magnus is one of his Chaos Princes. Since Tzeentch is not only the god of change and intrigue but also the lord of magic, the legion consists almost entirely of powerful sorcerers. At least that is the case now.
Many Chaos Space Marines of the Thousand Sons are now just lifeless husks. The backlash from a particularly powerful spell has transformed those Thousand Sons who were not mentally strong enough into “Rubric Marines”: trapped souls of Space Marines in their armor who are little more than fighting automatons.
Nevertheless, the Thousand Sons have the largest number of powerful sorcerers of all factions in the galaxy. Few opponents can withstand the combined power of psionic energy and unleashed Warp.
Additionally, they have with Magnus a demon prince as a Primarch, but one who can think extraordinarily well strategically and leads the legion as best as possible. This makes them one of the strongest traitor legions.
