Rank 5: Word Bearers
The Word Bearers were once known as Imperial Heralds under their Primarch Lorgar Aurelian. They were the first to betray the Emperor, partly because a single man converted Lorgar to Chaos.
Originally the greatest followers of the Emperor, who revered him as a god – which may not have been so wrong – they are now worshippers of the Undivided Chaos, serving no particular god.
Although the Word Bearers also lack their Primarch, who is now a demon prince, they are still organized and not shattered. Their greatest strength lies in demon summoning. No other traitor legion has as much expertise in calling all kinds of demons into realspace.
This makes them terrible enemies in combat against humans, Aeldari, or Orks, but to prove themselves against other Chaos worshipers, demonology is not the best weapon.
