At the ChinaJoy 2018, 6 new MMORPGs and MMOs were showcased. However, they are all mobile games for the Chinese market. Ragnarok Online: Love at First Sight stands out, based on the popular IP “Ragnarok Online.” We have trailers for 6 new games from China.
ChinaJoy 2018 took place: Over the weekend, ChinaJoy 2018, the video game fair in China, took place. The highlight from a Western perspective was a Cinematic for WoW.
But there were also numerous new introductions of fresh MMOs and MMORPGs from China. However, these are mostly mobile games.
Why are they so into mobile? The Chinese market loves mobile. Gaming there, as in South Korea, has developed differently than in the West. Consoles like PS4 or Xbox One are hardly available, and for a long time, PC gaming dominated.

However, players did not have computers at home but at internet cafés, the PC bangs, as they are called in Korea. By now, though, everyone in China has a smartphone, and gaming has shifted from PC bangs into the hands of players.
New Mobile MMORPG Ragnarok Online: The Chinese giant Tencent announced numerous new mobile games at ChinaJoy, including “Ragnarok Online: Love at First Sight.”
The game is being developed in collaboration with Dream². The studio is also behind Ragnarok Online: Guardians of Eternal Love.

Moonlight Blade Mobile – a Wuxia MMO from the same team as the PC game Moonlight Blade.
Slam Dunk Mobile – Based on a manga and comes from a Japanese studio. The team was said to have one of the largest booths at ChinaJoy.
Civilization Online: Origin – Cultures playable are China, Persia, Egypt, and Greece.
Project E – the new “flagship mobile MMO” from Tencent, is being developed on Unreal Engine 4 and is set to launch in 2019. “Project E” means “we don’t have a name yet and will think of one later.”
Perfect World Mobile – Distributed by Perfect World and Tencent.
Exotic market: Currently, it is still unclear to what extent we will see individual players here in Europe. Many games are also only developed for Asia and never make it to the West.
At least it provides an exotic insight into what is happening in the gaming market in China.
