Nico Robin
Who is she? Robin was born on the Scholar Island Ohara, a place full of historians studying the forbidden knowledge of the Lost Century. When the World Government discovered that the scholars of Ohara were conducting research on the Poneglyphs, they decided to erase the entire island.
With the “Buster Call” strategy, they completely destroyed Ohara and killed all its inhabitants – including Robin’s mother and her only guardian, Professor Clover. As Nico Robin was the only survivor, she was branded an enemy by the World Government. Thus, she had to spend her life on the run.
Why is her fate so sad? After the destruction of Ohara, the World Government put a huge bounty on Nico Robin, who was only 8 years old at the time. From that moment on, she was hunted. Nobody wanted to help her, fearing the World Government. She was constantly betrayed and sold, as she was considered a “demon child”.
Robin lived in fear for years, without trusting other people, until she finally joined the Straw Hat crew. But even then, she was targeted by the World Government. When she was captured in Enies Lobby, she was ready to sacrifice her life because she believed she would never find peace.
