3. Dragon Raja: The Blazing Dawn
What is it about? Dragon Raja is a Chinese anime based on the novel series of the same name by Jiang Nan. The story is about Lu Mingfei, an average high school student who unexpectedly receives an acceptance confirmation from the mysterious Cassell College.
Upon his arrival, he learns that Cassell College is a secret organization whose main mission is to protect humanity from dragons. Although their existence remains hidden from the world, some students even harbor dragon powers and are trained to become dragon hunters at the college.
Why is the anime special? Dragon Raja: The Blazing Dawn uniquely combines the modern world with fantasy elements and offers an exciting mix of adventure, action, and drama.
The series bears some resemblance to Harry Potter – especially the manner in which Cassell College tries to persuade Lu Mingfei’s family to let him attend the school. He lives with his uncle, aunt, and annoying cousin, and is not treated particularly well. What exactly is going on with his parents is not clear.
However, the biggest highlight of the series is the character of NoNo. She is the driving force behind Lu Mingfei’s decision to accept the invitation to Cassell College. In a way, she wins his heart in a storm and promises to protect him.
