1. Ragna Crimson
What is it about? Ragna Crimson is a dark fantasy anime based on the manga of the same name by Daiki Kobayashi. The story takes place in a world threatened by dangerous dragons and follows the young dragon hunter Ragna. His goal is to protect his talented partner Leonica, one of the best dragon huntresses ever.
One day, Ragna encounters a mysterious version of himself from the future, who grants him incredible powers. This future version has already witnessed Ragna lose everything and wants to prevent him from that.
With his new abilities, he ultimately allies with Crimson, a dragon being in human form, who has his own plans. Together, they aim to eliminate the dragons that threaten humanity.
Why is the anime special? Ragna Crimson is an action-packed anime that follows a rather atypical plot progression: After Ragna gains his new powers, he makes it very clear to Leonica that he is going on dragon-killing missions without her. He immediately allies with Crimson, who had previously helped his future version, and the two become a solid duo.
Normally, one would expect the hero to gather allies and steadily grow his group – especially since Leonica is a very capable warrior. But Ragna makes a different decision. He sends her away to protect her and sets off only with Crimson to save the world.
