It is no secret that big Hollywood stars have a substantial sum in their bank accounts. But that was not always the case. What Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill bought with their first major paychecks was revealed on the Graham Norton Show.
Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill are practically colleagues. The latter appeared alongside Cruise in “Mission Impossible: Fallout” and engaged in a memorable fight in a bathroom, complete with reloading fists. Fans will remember.
However, both Cruise and Cavill were certainly not always the stars they are today. Before major roles like Ethan Hunt or Superman, they were working on smaller projects.
By the way, Henry Cavill has turned his back on his popular role as Geralt of Rivia. The director has her own thoughts on that.
During the Graham Norton Show, a British comedy talk show, host Graham Norton asked both Cruise and Cavill about their first big paychecks. Specifically: What they bought with them. The answers from the two could not be more different. Particularly Tom Cruise’s response makes his colleague seem like an egoist.
Here you can see the trailer for the latest film in the “Mission Impossible” series.
Tom Cruise makes Henry Cavill look bad
What did the two buy? Henry Cavill starts, telling how he bought a new car with his first big paycheck. And not just any car. It was an Aston Martin DBS, one of the cars used by James Bond in the film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” The current price of the car is between 242,400 – 272,913 EUR (via AutoBild).
Not a small amount for the wallet, but with the support of his father, Cavill was able to afford the car. By the way, it was his father who preferred to take the son’s car for a spin.
Tom Cruise, however, invested his money quite differently. He paid for his sister’s college education. Shortly after, he also bought a car, but again not for himself, but for his other sister.

In the light-hearted talk show, Henry Cavill appeared awkward. Compared to Tom Cruise’s generous nature, the “Witcher” actor seemed exaggeratedly like an egoist. His answer drew laughter from the group. Or as Simon Pegg, who was also present on the talk show, put it: “That’s so typical of him (Cruise).” This is not the first time Henry Cavill had to explain himself on the Graham Norton Show.
Tom Cruise was seen last summer in the seventh installment of the still-popular “Mission Impossible” series. Henry Cavill will appear in an upcoming “Warhammer 40,000” film adaptation.
Are you fans of both actors? Henry Cavill is not only a big video game fan but also prefers to build his PC himself.
