Gary Oldman: To Mars Instead of Hogwarts
The 68-year-old actor from London has had a long film career. You probably know him from films like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
, Léon: The Professional
, or in the title role of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour
from 2017.
However, his – at least among gamers and nerds – best-known role is that of Sirius Black from the Harry Potter films. He even names Oldman himself as one of his highlights, saying they saved his life and he “thanks God for Harry Potter.”
However, the fact that Gary Oldman is also a fan of Warhammer has not been publicly known often and is rather known because other fans have often seen him and his sons at conventions, in Warhammer World, or in the local game store. On Instagram, the profile of hobby historian ministry_of_toysoldiers gives a little context about it.
How active Oldman really is is hard to confirm. Allegedly, he builds and paints his miniatures himself a lot. His favorite army is apparently the slightly quirky Tech-Priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus, one of the most important organizations in the Imperium of Mankind.
