The sci-fi MMORPG Hellion is mainly about how you can survive in space. This is shown in a new trailer.
The universe is a dangerous place. Without the right equipment, no one survives out there – not even in the upcoming sandbox MMO Hellion. The story begins darkly: Colonists arrive after about a 100-year sleeping beauty … cryogenic sleep to the Hellion solar system. A colony is to be established there.
But what the colonists find is only death and chaos. Representatives from Earth, who were supposed to prepare for the arrival of the colonists, seem to have been killed in a brutal conflict. Help is 100 years away. Now it’s up to the colonists to survive somehow.
Life and Death in Space
You join one of the colonist groups in the RPG, who begin to build space stations and establish outposts on the inhospitable worlds. So for a large part of the game, you will be in environments where it is difficult to stay alive: Without a spacesuit and enough air, you cannot survive in space. Additionally, there are regular walks in space, for example, when you search wrecks of spaceships for usable items.
You won’t get far without resources. To mine these from asteroids, you first need a spaceship with which you fly through space to the boulders. Once there, you get out and mine the resources with special tools. But be careful, dangers lurk everywhere, such as hostile players who can kill you in PvP to claim the asteroid for themselves.
Build Your Own Space Stations
You can even build your own space stations together with other players by taking modules from wrecks, refurbishing them, and building them onto your station, making it larger. However, a space station must be maintained with resources, which means you can’t just hide in it.
The sandbox survival MMO Hellion will enter early access on PC in January. You can already prepare for the survival elements with a new trailer.
