In Helldivers 2, the new war bond “On a Knife Edge” was recently released. It seems to be really good, because one weapon instantly excited the fans.
What weapon are we talking about? The new “LAS-16 Sickle” energy weapon is currently particularly favored by players. The energy weapon has a large range and precision, and it has about 50-100 shots in the battery before it overheats. The only downside is that it needs to recharge for a short time before firing.
However, those who play smart will never need to reload, making the weapon very attractive to many players. Just one day after its release, players are raving about the weapon on Reddit.

What are players trying to do on Reddit? Players on Reddit are trying to prevent the developers from nerfing the weapon. There have been many discussions in the past about weapon nerfs in the game. While players would rather see all weapons being buffed a bit, the developers do not want to buff all weapons until everyone is happy.
Players are trying to take advantage of this by creating posts with titles saying the weapon is “Absolute Trash” before admitting in the actual post that they love the weapon.
An example of this is the Reddit post by the user RocketBilly13 titled “The new LAS-16 is possibly the worst gun ever released. Absolute trash.”
What is said in the post? In the post on Reddit, the poster describes their plan to mislead the developers and thus protect the weapon from nerfing. However, users still share their experiences with the weapon in the comments under the post.
It feels great, the sound combined with the slight recoil makes the rifle feel amazing. In terms of effectiveness, it is clearly, without question, the best laser weapon. […] I would say it is still one of the worst primary weapons because it suffers from the same problem as any laser weapon: the cooldown is so long compared to the damage dealt.”

I love using it with the now usable laser cannon. It takes about the same time to overheat and cool down while the other one is holstered, so you can fairly effortlessly circle around your heat indicators and have no real downtime. What about the other weapons of the war bond? Players still find the stun hand grenade quite good. It can stun acid titans for 5 seconds, which is particularly useful on higher difficulty levels.
Reddit user rez11 writes: “The stun hand grenade is a big deal for high difficulty levels, stunning titans for 5 seconds is pretty crazy, an indirect buff to the 500 kg [bomb]!”
