Helldivers 2 will soon receive a new system that protects you from griefers – so you can at least keep your well-deserved loot.
What is this new system? On August 6, the largest update for Helldivers 2, “Escalation of Freedom”, will be released. The update includes a new system designed to help you if you are kicked from the squad by the host just before completing a mission.
Getting kicked before you could extract from the mission area is very painful. This means you receive no rewards for your hard work and invested time. Currently, a player affected has no chance to protect themselves from a kick and keep their loot. This has been a well-known issue in Arrowhead’s cooperative shooter for months.
The new system is designed to at least save your loot. You will spawn in a new session as the host when you are kicked from a mission and take with you the collected loot of the entire team. However, the team that kicks you will also not lose any loot – after all, there are also legitimate kicks.

What do the players say about the new system? On Reddit, the Helldivers 2 community is excited about the solution. One player calls it the “perfect solution” and receives over 2,000 upvotes within 24 hours for the statement. This indicates a lot of support from the community.
Another user explains that the new system also makes it easier to kick other players without feeling guilty. The host can now directly respond to bad behavior from a teammate without having to weigh whether any misconduct was intentional and if the person would do it again.
Many players also report experiences where they benefited from the new system. The general consensus among most comments is that the system can’t come soon enough.
