In Helldivers 2 you occasionally have to eliminate so-called Devastators. We will show you how to effectively disable the robots.
Devastators are heavily armored robots equipped with either regular weapons, a rocket launcher, or a shield and a cannon. They are deadly enemies and can significantly harm your squad in high numbers.
Helldivers 2 offers new assignments daily, where you can earn medals. One mission could be to eliminate Devastators. We will show you the most effective way to do this.
Helldivers 2: Finding Devastators – This is what the nasty robots look like
This is how you find the Devastators: You can find Devastators in the red sectors on planets where battles against the robots are taking place. They are either deployed by landing ships of the faction or manufactured in factories at the individual outposts of the robots.
Even though Devastators are categorized as heavily armored enemies, they can spawn at any difficulty level.
There are various versions of Devastators with different weapons. One variant of the Devastator has a so-called arm cannon, which allows it to fire at you from longer distances.
Helldivers 2: Eliminating Devastators – This is how you can disable them most effectively
This is how you eliminate the Devastators: To take down the Devastators, you can utilize two methods:
- You shoot them in the face and destroy their head
- This will take them out immediately
- You blow off their limbs using grenades or rocket launchers
- Primarily aim for the legs, and they will fall over and die
- Weapons that were used with a destroyed arm become nonfunctional
Since the Devastators are heavily armored, it is best to equip weapons with the “Armor-Piercing” property.
The R-36 Berster rifle and the P-4 Senator revolver can even take down Devastators with a single headshot.
Alternatively, you can of course use tactical gear like the anti-matter rifle, the disposable anti-tank, the automatic cannon, or the quasar cannon to effectively flatten Devastators.
What can I do if I’m playing alone and haven’t unlocked everything? Even without the best equipment, you can take down the Devastators. Use grenades, your orbital strike, and your primary weapon in first-person mode. This way, you can better aim for the heads and ensure the robots fall before they reach you.
So if you want to complete the command quickly and don’t want to be overwhelmed by enemies, we recommend the 3rd difficulty. This can be approached comfortably even solo.
