There is a new planet that the soldiers of Über-Earth must defend in Helldivers 2. For many, this is one of the toughest challenges of all time and evokes memories of the release and the fight against the robots. However, Cyberstan is more dangerous, as a short clip shows.
On February 8, 2024, Helldivers 2 was released, and the soldiers of Über-Earth stormed the enemies’ planets to liberate them with democracy. While the bugs had tough counterparts, their fight was still manageable. A much hellish experience was then provided by the planet Malevelon Creek.
The fight against the robots was hell for many soldiers. Hulks and Devastators made their lives difficult.
With the last update, the Planet Cyberstan was introduced, bringing a new type of enemy with cyborgs. A soldier demonstrates in just 8 seconds why this planet is even more dangerous and harder than Malevelon Creek.
Cyberstan is everything I hoped for from a planet controlled by bots
What does the player show? In a new thread on Reddit, user Fazun mocks the soldiers who find Malevelon Creek harder than Cyberstan. In the clip, you can see countless cyborgs beating on a player, while tanks and other vehicles render any escape impossible.
In 8 seconds, the user shows how one can quickly find oneself in a hopeless situation in Cyberstan. About the users who find Creek harder, he additionally says: Stop making it part of your personality, you damn boomers!
The thread currently (as of February 15, 2026, 11:45 AM) has over 5,700 upvotes and over 700 comments. Many other Über-soldiers agree with him and have theories on why many Helldivers veterans remember Malevelon Creek as so difficult.
Strange-Feeling69420 (source: Reddit) believes that it can’t even be compared. The game was just different back then, and weapons and stratagems were not as effective as they are today.
A similar sentiment is echoed by PlayeWardForTeleport (source: Reddit). Back then, the weapons were weaker; today, there are many more options for gearing up for missions.
Freodrick (source: Reddit) is a Creek veteran who summarizes Cyberstan as follows: Cyberstan is everything I hoped for from a planet controlled by bots: well defended, well guarded, tough, and full of reinforcements. Yes, it is also damn hard, especially when you reach level 7-10, and reminds me of Creek moments with fierce battles.

What is really harder now? Difficulties are of course subjective feelings, but one must not forget that Helldivers 2 is constantly evolving. New weapons and stratagems regularly expand the options available to Über-Earth soldiers. While just under 2 years ago, there was only a fraction of that, today you can vary with entire builds

More importantly, however, is another evolution: players are continuously getting better and gaining more experience. The baseline is simply higher than it was 2 years ago when the majority consisted of newcomers. Nowadays, players know more about what they need to do and how to cooperate well.
Developers need to adjust to this as well when creating new enemies and challenges. The game has to become organically harder to keep it exciting.
And one must also take a look at Cyberstan on paper: Not only are there many robot enemies, but the cyborgs with their flying kicks and roundhouse kicks are a dangerous combination. You need to keep an eye not only on the close threats but also on the tanks and vehicles in the distance.
One could argue that the human escort missions were more frustrating, but overall, Cyberstan is likely harder than Malevelon Creek 2 years later.
