In Helldivers 2 a community has formed that can do much more than just shoot bugs and robots to pulp. This is now proven by a post on Reddit that brings thousands of players to tears.
Which story does the player want to help with? A post went viral in the Helldivers community on Reddit that even touched the boss of Helldivers 2. A player shared the story of his friend. The two were best friends and played Helldivers 2 every day until recently. He even reached the maximum level 50, for which he received the title: “Skull Admiral.”
The two had a lot of fun together in Helldivers 2, but on the day of his birthday, the friend suddenly passed away. To honor his friend’s actions for Over-Earth, the Helldiver asked on Reddit if there was any way to access the statistics of the deceased friend. He and other friends would like to build a memorial out of it.
The thread goes viral and attracts not only other Helldivers but also the game’s boss, Johan Pilestedt.

What does he write? Johan Pilestedt responded on Reddit under the user’s post.
He expressed his condolences and wrote: “I am very sorry for your loss. My battle companion of 20 years passed away 3 years ago. To this day, I see his username on Discord, Steam, and other platforms and fondly remember the many beautiful gaming memories we shared.”
Regarding the question about the deceased’s game data, Johan Pilestedt also has an answer: “I will talk to the team about how we can commemorate one of the fallen.”
He ends his response with a quote: “As my grandmother said: ‘Sorrow is for those who remain.'” which means in German: “The mourning applies to those who are still alive.”
