Helldivers 2: After almost a week of waiting, you finally have free weapon choice again

The last patch for Helldivers 2 from March 20 made the Arc weapons useless: They crashed the game when used – a game-breaking bug. After almost a week, Patch 1.000.104 is live and finally brings the solution: It fixes the broken lightning weapons.

What happened recently with Helldivers 2?

• Helldivers 2 was released in early February 2024 and has since enjoyed consistent popularity. Additionally, the game is regularly updated with new content.
• About two weeks ago, players completed a major event and unlocked the so-called mechs.
• On March 20, the developers released a patch that made the lightning weapons unusable.

What exactly was the effect of the bug? Since the last update 1.000.103 (see patch notes via Steam), the use of certain lightning weapons caused game freezes. However, this affected not only the player using it but also other players who were not using the weapon at all.

The developers even specifically warned against using these weapons. The affected weapons included the Tesla Tower, the ARC-3 Bow, and the ARC-12 Lightning Shotgun. This was particularly frustrating, as the current war bond On the Edge of a Knife relies heavily on lightning weapons.
