How can you recognize Acid Spitters?
- Acid Spitters are large Terminites with a dark green body. This body is filled with corrosive acid, which is why they are very thick and look swollen.
- In the swollen part of the body is the corrosive acid; it is essentially the acid reservoir of the beetle.
- On the sides of the acid reservoir, where it is very extended due to the amount of acid inside, a bright yellow-green hue shines through.
- Acid Spitters first appeared in the world of Helldivers 2 after toxic chemicals leaked from the E-710 farms.

What can the Acid Spitter do? As the name suggests, the Acid Spitter can spit dangerous acid. It can accurately spit the corrosive substance at you from several meters away, causing noticeable damage.
However, since the body of the Acid Spitter is large, extended, and pumped full of acid, it moves only very slowly and sluggishly.

How should you fight against the Acid Spitter? Since the acid attack of the giant beetle can cause significant damage, you should keep moving when it prepares its attack. The attack occurs in a very straight line, so you can reliably dodge it by running in circles around the Acid Spitter. In case of doubt, you need to dodge with a roll.
At the lower difficulty levels, Acid Spitters do not have an armored exterior, so you can reliably defeat them with a shower of bullets to the face or a single shot from the disposable anti-tank weapon. The rocket launcher is also well suited for breaking the armor of a beetle. At higher difficulty levels, the front of the Acid Spitter is protected, and you will have to shoot the weak point at the back of the Terminite.
Beware: The Acid Spitter can explode if you kill it by shooting at its rear, the acid reservoir, and may damage you or your teammates with the acid that is spread as a result.
You should avoid using a flamethrower in the fight against the Acid Spitter. Behind the flames, it can be difficult to see if the Acid Spitter is preparing its attack. Also, you are not very mobile with the flamethrower, and the damage against the Acid Spitter is limited. It is quite possible that you will take an acid spit attack while you are happily setting the area on fire.
Eliminating the Acid Spitter can be a daily task in Helldivers 2. You will need to look for missions/operations where you can encounter Acid Spitters and take out some of them.
