With the freshly announced MMORPG Riders of Icarus (PC), mounts and their taming take center stage.
The new MMO from Nexon and WeMade Entertainment immerses you in a vast fantasy world. In this world, you will discover many creatures that you can tame. Those who catch an animal can train it and turn it into a mount. These mounts can ultimately be trained with special abilities, making each mount in your collection something unique.
Ground and aerial combat with mounts
During your travels through the landscapes, you will decide which mount you want to use. In a team, it becomes important to see who is using which mount and therefore which abilities. Depending on which animals you tame, you can ride the mounts either on the ground or even in the air. A giant bear, for example, instills fear and terror on the ground, while soaring through the skies with a dragon delivers intense aerial combat against other players and monsters.
The battles in Riders of Icarus are very action-oriented, which is especially meant to make the boss fights something special. A total of several hundred animals will be available for you to tame and turn into mounts.
The beta starts soon
“With Riders of Icarus, we want to expand the MMORPG genre with a brand new action element: thrilling aerial battles,” says Seok Hoon, producer at WeMade Entertainment. “There are numerous games with dragons and other flying mounts, but they usually have no real impact on the battles. In Riders of Icarus, the mounts create excitement and new challenges by adding vertical gameplay to the action-packed ground battles.”
Riders of Icarus will launch tomorrow in the USA in a closed beta. This will last for several days. A beta is also planned for Europe, but a date has not yet been set. However, anyone who wants to participate can already register on the official MMORPG website and, with a bit of luck, gain access to the test phase.
