Is Heatran worth it as a new raid boss?
How strong is Heatran: The legendary Pokémon can reach 4244 CP at level 50 and has an attack value of 251. This looks powerful at first glance. However, the problem with Heatran is its moves. Heatran can learn only Fire Spin or Fire Blast as charged moves. These are 2 weaker moves, and monsters like Moltres or Reshiram, which can use Overheat, are significantly stronger.
In summary, it can be stated that while Heatran is a solid attacker with strong stats, its moves are still weak. If this ever changes, Heatran could become significantly stronger and be more worth it.
Should you do Heatran raids? If you are just looking for strong attackers, you don’t necessarily need to waste your Raid passes on Heatran. However, one can speculate that Heatran will eventually learn new moves and then become significantly stronger.
Additionally, you can earn XL candies from Heatran through the raids. So if you want to power up a Heatran to level 50, you shouldn’t miss the raids.
Another fact in favor of Heatran is its shiny form. If you don’t have the shiny yet, you should try your luck.
