Blizzard has revealed 4 new cards from the Hearthstone expansion “Whispers of the Old Gods”. Check them out here!
Hogger has been corrupted
Until the next expansion of Hearthstone “Whispers of the Old Gods” is released in about 6 weeks, Blizzard will take the time to introduce the individual cards. After revealing several new cards on the day of the announcement, more will follow gradually.
First up is Hogger, The Scourge of Elwynn. He is a variant of the already known Hogger, but now has significantly more damage potential. For 7 mana, he has stats of 6/6 and the card effect: “When this minion takes damage, summon a 2/2 Gnoll with taunt.”
The second card is the Giant Sandworm, a beast only for hunters. For 8 mana, it has massive stats of 8/8 and the card text: “When this minion attacks and kills another minion, it can attack again.” It is still unclear whether this minion can attack “infinitely” if it kills multiple targets – this would represent a massive buff to the spell “Wrath of the Wilds,” as it would allow the worm to clear the board single-handedly.
Lastly, the spell for paladins Stand Against Darkness has been revealed. For 5 mana, you summon 5 Silver Hand recruits. In direct comparison to existing paladin cards, this seems a bit weak, but there will certainly be ways to create devastating combinations from it.
Speaking of paladins – they are in for a rough time, at least for the popular “Secret Paladin” deck. It is presented with its worst nightmare, the Eater of Secrets. For 4 mana, the creature has only 2/4 stats but offers the wonderful battlecry: “Destroy all of your opponent’s secrets and gain +1/+1 for each destroyed secret.” As this is a neutral minion, it will likely be found in many decks soon or at least ensure that secrets lose significant importance.
