MeinMMO reveals another card from the new Hearthstone expansion “March of the Lich King” – and the Hunter card “Scourgecaller” packs a punch.
The latest expansion “March of the Lich King” will be released in Hearthstone soon. With the new class “Death Knight,” there are even more cards this time – a whopping 145 new cards will be in the upcoming set. The cards are being revealed piece by piece, and MeinMMO is also showcasing some cards.
The “Scourgecaller” really has a lot to offer.
The Scourgecaller – a powerful hero ability in a compact form
The Scourgecaller is an epic minion for Hunters, bringing a 2 / 2 body for 2 mana to the board as an Undead (a new minion type). Its battlecry ensures it can still be quite useful later in the game, as it states:
Creates its own Zombie.
What is a Zombie? Anyone who has played “Knights of the Frozen Throne” will remember zombies, as the undead variant of Rexxar, “Deathstalker Rexxar,” could assemble them as a hero ability.
When you create a Zombie, you get to choose from three different beasts twice. You must pick one from each case. The two chosen beasts then merge into your “Zombie.” This means:
- Their mana costs are added
- Their stats are added
- Their effects like battlecry, deathrattle, windfury, or similar are added
After that, you get the Zombie in your hand and can play it.
New in “March of the Lich King” is that zombies not only count as beasts but also as undead. This provides them with new synergy effects and allows them to interact with other cards that further boost beasts or undead.
The Scourgecaller is likely to prove to be a solid “all-around” card that finds a place in many Hunter decks. Because whether you want to have a slightly weaker Zombie early on, or a larger creature with higher mana costs and stronger effects later, the Scourgecaller is quite versatile. Unlike many other cards, it is useful in both early and late game.
What do you think of the Scourgecaller? A worthwhile addition to your decks? Or will you hardly use the card?
