In Blizzard’s card game Hearthstone there’s now a mini-scandal. Apparently a user has manipulated the voting on which card from the expansion “Goblins vs Gnomes” will be shown next.
As reported by PCGamer, there was a mini-scandal during the last vote on which new card should be revealed in Hearthstone, so to speak a #Votegate.
At Blizzard, they currently present two cards for selection and let users vote on Twitter for which one they will reveal the stats. Unusual voting behavior was noted during the last votes there.
Return of the Bots during a minor PR action
In one vote, both cards were tied until in the last seconds a surge caused one side to win clearly. The same side then started the next vote with a 1100 vote lead, while the other side rested at 38 votes. On reddit, people shouted “Foul.” There are bots at play!
At Blizzard, they take it easy. They want to show all 120 cards anyway before the launch. The vote is seen more as a minor PR action.
Some joke that this might be the bots’ revenge for the recent banning actions.
In the last few days, we’ve presented a bunch of Hearthstone cards, on Sunday eight, yesterday three new cards. Another one has been revealed since then. You can admire it on the right, quite a nasty beast. The 4-mana minion with 3/5 stats gains +2 attack for each spell the opponent casts. And it is not a class card, but a minion available to everyone.
