The rumors about Hearthstone are slowly intensifying, it could be about the Old Gods in the new expansion.
Digging up the Old Gods again
Blizzard is teasing, as with previous expansions of Hearthstone, with small teasers and supposed hints that are meant to get fans speculating again. After some Hearthstone communities received special letters in the past few days, which stated (roughly translated) “A quiet whisper is going around the tavern…” most players already agree: It will be about the Old Gods.
This theory is further fueled by Blizzard adjusting the “example cards” on the Hearthstone website. Now highlighted are the cards Cult Master, Faceless Manipulator, Mind Control, TERROR of the Void, and Dark Whispers – all thematically fitting cards.

The Old Gods are counted among the greatest and most powerful threats that Azeroth holds. Even the Titans were unable to completely defeat the Old Gods and could only imprison them temporarily. Yet even from there, they still had enough power to corrupt mortal races through their whispers.
They are the driving forces behind many terrible things, as they are responsible for the corruption of Neltharion, later known as Deathwing, and even the downfall of the ancient Night Elf culture is attributed to them at certain points – for the Naga do bear striking similarities to the Faceless Ones, don’t they? The most well-known Old Gods are probably C’thun from Ahn’Qiraj and Yogg-Saron from Ulduar, who have been defeated by the world’s raiders many thousands of times.
We will know more by the weekend and until then: Y’knath k’th’rygg k’yi mrr’ungha gr’mula… – All places, all things have souls. All souls can be devoured.
