The new Naxxramas cards bring movement to the metagame of Blizzard’s free card game Hearthstone. The dark horse is one that hardly anyone expected.

As the new cards of Hearthstone were gradually introduced, experts raved about several low-mana drops like the Deathlord, the Echoing Oozeling, or the Nerubian Egg. The Tomb Raider was also considered an early favorite for the title of the new MVP, Most Valuable Minion. However, it seems that an outsider has secured the inside lane and is passing the favorites. Of all cards, the “Mad Scientist,” dismissed by experts like Trump with a “Meh,” is rising to become the dark horse of the new meta game.
He shines in a Hunter deck. The Mad Scientist, a 2/2 minion for 2 mana, brings a secret from the player’s deck directly into play with his deathrattle. Many people think of secrets first in relation to the Paladin or the Mage. However, pro-gamer Reynad has devised a wicked Hunter deck and packed traps into it. With two Explosive and two Freezing Traps, which bring his Mad Scientists into hand for free and without tempo loss, he keeps the opponent’s side of the deck clean without tempo loss and converts his own tempo gain into dominance.
According to technologytell, the rankings are therefore full of Hunters. Reynad explains his “Mad Hunter” deck in this video, and we have also provided a detailed deck list in the sources.
