Knights of the Frozen Throne, the new expansion in Hearthstone, is coming next week. There is a release date and finally PvE again.
Release date in Germany – New Hearthstone expansion
Blizzard announced this evening when Knights of the Frozen Throne will be released here in Germany. This is the latest expansion in Hearthstone, which kills all heroes and resurrects them as Death Knights.
The expansion will be released on August 11 – it will likely be in the middle of the night from Thursday to Friday, for the USA “Knights of the Frozen Throne” is scheduled for August 10.
Quests come for free – Finally PvE again
The joke about “Knights of the Frozen Throne” is that not only new cards are coming, 135 in total, but also story missions. What used to be the adventures are included in the expansion for free.
Adventurers craving PvE will tackle eight missions, eight single-player contents, in the Icecrown Citadel. These are boss fights.
As the ninth and final duel, you will face the Lich King himself. It is already known that you have to defeat him with all heroes – and the villain cheats.
After the prologue, all games will receive a free Death Knight hero card – it will be random. Once all missions are completed, there will be three card packs for Knights of the Frozen Throne.
RNG, lifedrain, and deathrattle – Blizzard’s new card ideas for Hearthstone
- The new cards coming to Hearthstone are quite crazy. Blizzard is heavily leaning on RNG and deathrattle again. The new card effect “lifedrain” works exactly as you would expect: damage dealt as lifedrain heals your own hero.
- The “craziest card” of the expansion is probably the new priest legendary, which copies the opponent’s deck and shuffles it into your own deck: This priest is crazy.
- As a special feature, each class gets a legendary card that swaps the hero and replaces it with a Death Knight variant with special abilities. Jaina becomes a lifedrain monster.
