The next mini-addon for Hearthstone has been revealed. There are 66 new cards and some really likable characters.
Hearthstone is currently in the long dry spell between two expansions. After the nerfs, the meta of “Forged in the Barrens” has settled down again. To lighten the long wait for the next expansion and keep the game fresh, Hearthstone is releasing a new mini-set. It takes place in the legendary dungeon “The Caverns of Wailing”.
This is what the trailer shows: The cinematic is a bit calmer this time, but also designed to be more exciting with a clear story. The various heroes from the Barrens expansion have been stopped by Hamuul Runetotem. He is at the entrance to the legendary Caverns of Wailing. Hamuul warns the group about the dangers and tells of the nightmare that has corrupted every creature there. Besides the animals, the Druids of the Poisonfang are also a problem, as well as the “unspeakable evil”.
Our (somewhat bumbling) hero group explains that they will of course turn back and not face the challenge – which soon proves to be a lie.
This makes the hero group resemble the typical player characters from World of Warcraft, who are told at every turn that a place is far too dangerous, but with a YOLO mentality still rush in.
Unfortunately, there were no cards shown in the presentation, it’s purely a story trailer.
What’s included in the set? Although the cards have not been revealed yet, there is already a clear statement about which card types will be included in the set. These are:
- 4 legendary cards
- 1 epic card (x2)
- 14 rare cards (x2)
- 16 common cards (x2)
This results in 35 different cards. Including the duplicates, this totals to 66 cards.
What does the mini-set cost? The package of 66 cards will cost a total of 15 €. The same conditions apply as for the last mini-set, so you can also buy all cards for the price of 2,000 gold without investing real money. This should be a very solid value and a great addition to all collections.
When is the set coming out? The Caverns of Wailing will be released in just one week, on Thursday, June 3rd. Typically, the release for Europeans occurs in the evening hours, so expect around 8:00 or 9:00 PM.
