A few little birds have chirped: The next expansion for Blizzard’s card game “Hearthstone” is already in the works and will be unveiled in just a few weeks. As usual, the manufacturers keep fans somewhat in the dark.
The Fanfare of the Crusade
Some journalists received a very special package from Blizzard in the last few days: An ancient scroll, whose packaging also played a knightly fanfare upon opening. The message reads like an invitation to a chivalric tournament – and there is only one that has gained great fame in World of Warcraft: The Tournament of the Argent Crusade in Northrend.
The rumor mill is churning and many fans are already speculating on what the new expansion might include. If Blizzard follows the previous model, a big card expansion is now on the way, as was the case nearly half a year ago with “Goblins vs. Gnomes.” Thematically, a tournament – and especially the Argent Tournament – offers many new possibilities; for example, “Knights” could be introduced as a new card type. Together with all the antagonists, such as the Black Knight or the Val’kyr sisters, this could offer the potential for many cards.
Whether there is any truth to this theory will be revealed in the coming weeks. We will of course keep you updated as soon as there are new details – at the latest on July 22, because according to the scroll the announcement is supposed to take place then.
