Hearthstone wants to give it another go. After 6 years, the card game is getting a new class – the Demon Hunter. We show what it can do.
Blizzard released the latest expansion for Hearthstone, “Wonders of the Shattered Realm” on April 7, 2020. With it, the new class Demon Hunter is now online.
For years, the rhythm of content releases has been similar, often not differing much in structure. But now Hearthstone is taking new paths. Almost 6 years after the game’s original release, a new class is coming. We reveal what the Demon Hunter can do and why it will shake up Hearthstone.
Where does the information come from? The information comes from a post by Polygon magazine. The article has since been taken offline; apparently, it was released too early – but the information from it is already known.
What can the Demon Hunter do? The Demon Hunter comes with a whole set of its own cards to ensure it has a basic setup. After all, it has no cards in older sets. Twenty of these new cards have already been introduced. You can get a first impression here:
Just recently, Hearthstone also brought 18 new cards to the Battlegrounds mode.
Demon Hunter Illidan Becomes New Class in Hearthstone
This is the hero ability of the Demon Hunter: The Demon Hunter has a unique hero ability that differs from all other classes. Unlike other classes, the hero ability of the Demon Hunter costs only 1 Mana. It grants the Demon Hunter 1 attack for that round. While this is weaker than the hero ability of the Druid or Rogue, it is also only half as expensive and thus can be used more frequently.
When does the Demon Hunter appear? According to the original article, the Demon Hunter will be released in two parts with the expansion “Ashes of Outland”. First, one must play a small campaign to unlock Illidan and his cards. The campaign is supposed to be playable from April 2. A few days later, on April 7, the class is expected to appear in other game modes.
