The next expansion of Hearthstone has been teased – at least that is the assumption. Is there a “Goblins and Gnomes 2.0”?
The last expansion of Hearthstone, “One Night in Karazhan” was already some months ago. And although the boss battles have remained very fun for most players, and challenging in heroic mode, there is great dissatisfaction with the card design. The meta is – again – so stuck that there are hardly any new decks or opportunities to enter the game. It’s time for Blizzard to slowly fulfill the promise of releasing another large set expansion.
On the official Twitter channel of Hearthstone, a new image has now been posted, sending greetings from Gadgetzan, which is meant to convince the viewer that it is “as clean as it is safe”.
Anyone who looks closely at the original image will notice some disclaimers at the sides, written in typical goblin fashion. Roughly translated, it says:
“The word ‘safe’ is not present to create a contractual claim and does not imply safety, security, protection, preservation, inner peace, confidence, reliability, system stability, or trustworthiness.
Mayor Noggenfogger is not responsible for accidents, operations, brainstorming, thought-viewing, hellfire, disappearance, whirlwinds, throats, light bombs, elemental destructions, consecrations, holy novas, flame strikes, demon wrath, star rain, shadow flames, paw hits, explosive traps, arcane explosions, ???, DAMNATION!s, thunderstorms, blizzards, swirling nether, and other activities of the Old Gods, magical madness, or disfigurements that arise from them.”
In World of Warcraft, Gadgetzan is a tinkertown predominantly inhabited by goblins and gnomes – a neutral area where only money counts.
Whether this is really the next expansion remains to be seen. At least a first hint. We will surely learn more at BlizzCon.
Cortyn says: If you knew how many words I had to look up for the translation…
In any case, I am looking forward to a new addon. Fresh cards are long overdue, especially after some cards have been massively nerfed in recent weeks. Especially Yogg-Saron has lost a lot of its “fun factor” and needs a replacement.
