New cards from the Un’Goro expansion reveal why Sylvanas was banned from Hearthstone .
In just under a week, the release of “Journey to Un’Goro”, the latest Hearthstone adventure, is expected. Before Blizzard reveals the big wave of the last cards, they have highlighted a few key features.
The new legendary card for the Druids is Tyrantus. This powerful beast costs 10 mana and has massive stats of 12/12. Particularly threatening is that Tyrantus cannot be targeted by spells or enemy hero powers, making it very difficult for foes to directly eliminate it.
Also a beast, but much smaller, is the Ravasaur Runt, a 2/2 minion for 2 mana. Through its Battlecry, it gains an Adapt effect if the player controls at least 2 other minions. So, the little hatchling learns from other minions.
One of the biggest changes with the start of the “Year of the Mammoth” is the shifting of several Classic cards that can no longer be played in the Standard format. This includes giants like Ragnaros, but also Sylvanas Windrunner. The reason why the latter was banned can seemingly be traced back to the new card Spiritsinger Umbra. This legendary 4-mana minion with stats of 3 /4 has a pretty powerful card effect. As long as she is on the field, she makes played minions trigger their Deathrattle effect immediately! For Sylvanas, that would have been a direct Mind Control, which they likely did not want in the game (far from priests) – especially since it can be triggered a second time.
What do you think of these new cards? Cool innovations with many possibilities? Or rather disappointing?
Meanwhile, Blizzard has excluded German players from a tournament – due to unsportsmanlike behavior.
