As Ben Brode announced a few days ago, the next expansion of Hearthstone will be released in August. A first glimpse of the new cards and the theme of the expansion will be available earlier – namely on July 7, 2017, which is tomorrow!
The occasion is the Hearthstone Spring Championship, which already captivates many players and viewers of eSports. This is the perfect opportunity to talk about the future plans and new concepts of Hearthstone and to reach a large audience.
The reveal stream is set to take place at 7:00 PM PDT – which means for us a time of 4:00 AM on Friday morning! So if you want to watch live, you should get up early or stay up all night. You can watch the corresponding live stream on the official Hearthstone Twitch channel:
Hearthstone new Expansion: Lich King Arthas and Ice Crown?
What exactly the new expansion of Hearthstone will be about is still uncertain. Many fans suspect and hope that thematically this time it will be about Arthas, Ice Crown, and numerous undead adversaries.
Other players consider this unlikely, as both the Naxxramas expansion and The Grand Tournament have already touched on this theme and thus brought more than enough “Undead” into the card world of Hearthstone.
The only hint so far is the rune symbol in a teaser image for the expansion release plan. This could be either a frost or an arcane spell.
Tomorrow morning we will know more – and of course report on it immediately.
Update: It looks like the expansion has already been leaked. Hearthstone: Leak! Expansion “Knights of the Frozen Throne”?
