Three cards from Hearthstone are being nerfed. Blizzard reacts to the current meta and even introduces a change to the “wild” game mode.
From time to time, Blizzard realizes after the release of a card that it is too strong and makes a Hearthstone match not more exciting, but rather boring, when combined with other cards. Sometimes this realization takes a bit longer. With a new patch, Blizzard has now significantly weakened three annoying cards from Hearthstone.
The affected cards are:
- Gigglemancer
- Aviana
- Manawyrm
The nerfs to Gigglemancer: The Gigglemancer is a new card from Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab. A neutral servant that has 2 attack and 1 health for 5 mana, but also summons 2 Spotters with Divine Shield and stats of 1/2. It is now found in almost every deck.
Its influence is too strong, which is why its mana cost is increased from 5 to 7. Even then, it can still be played alongside the Blood Knight – a popular combo.
The nerfs to Aviana: Aviana is a card from “The Grand Tournament” and is now only seen in the wild game mode. Its mana cost is raised from 9 to 10. It reduces the costs of all other Druid servants on the battlefield to 1.
With this change, players can no longer play Aviana and Kun the Forgotten King in the same turn – at least not without the help of other cards, like the Coin or Innervate. Decks with this combination remain playable, they just require one more card to trigger the combo.
The nerf to the Manawyrm: The Manawyrm is an “Evergreen” card of the Mage. With its stats of 1/3 and a cost of 1 mana, the Manawyrm was not only very cheap but could also be easily buffed.
Through combinations with things like the Coin and Arcane Missiles, the Wyrm grew faster without enemies being able to counter. Therefore, the Wyrm is nerfed and its mana cost doubled – it now costs 2 mana instead of 1 mana.
In America, the changes are already live, and in our region, they will be activated throughout the day.
Do you already know the new standard cards?
What do you think of these changes to the cards? Are they good and reasonable? Or does Blizzard ruin your favorite deck with them?
If you’re considering a BlizzCon ticket, you actually get that sweetened with card packs …
