If you want to have a complete collection in Hearthstone , you have to spend a lot of money. We will tell you exactly how much that is.
With three expansions per year, many new cards for Hearthstone are released every few months. If you want to keep up and always have the best decks and trending cards, you have to either spend a lot of time in the game or regularly throw a few Euro bills at the problem.
But how much money do you actually need to buy all the current cards if you’re a complete newcomer?
On Reddit, the user IcomeBaringGifs took the trouble and did a lot of calculations for us.
Nearly 2,000 € for all current Hearthstone cards
In total, you would have to buy a whopping 1562 packs, which in the best case is worth 1870€ (the prices for 60-pack bundles are identical in Euro and Dollar).

The result assumes that you convert every golden card into Arcane Dust immediately and keep track of which cards you already have. As soon as you can craft the missing rest of a set, you stop buying cards.
What’s interesting is the thesis that you can never earn enough cards if you only use gold and invest it exclusively in packs. Because with about 5 packs per week, you would have to play for nearly 6 years to reach the corresponding amount. Of course, with some skill in the Arena, this can be drastically reduced.
Please keep in mind that this is just the cost for a complete “Standard” collection. That is, all cards from the current and past year that can still be used in the Standard format. The costs for a complete Wild collection will be significantly higher.
It should also be noted that it is not necessary to own all cards to enjoy Hearthstone. If you limit yourself to one or two trending decks, you can get by well as a free-to-play player or just buy cards once.
How much money have you spent on Hearthstone cards over the years? Or did you stop counting at some point because it gets embarrassing?
Have you heard about the strange sexism debate that recently surrounded a professional player?
