New cards from the Hearthstone expansion Knights of the Frozen Throne showcase Jaina’s Death Knight form. And it is quite dark!
New cards for the next Hearthstone expansion “Knights of the Frozen Throne” have been revealed again. We show you the highlights of the new announcements.
A whole lot of cards have been revealed around the Mage. Among them is the Death Knight card Frost Lich Jaina! For 9 mana, she replaces the original hero and grants him 5 armor points. Additionally, she summons a 3/6 Water Elemental and all of the Mage’s Elementals have lifesteal until the end of the game (the damage they deal heals the hero). The hero power then becomes Icy Touch. It still deals 1 damage for 2 mana – if the victim dies, Jaina summons a new Water Elemental!
The Doomed Apprentice costs 3 mana and has weak stats of 3/2. However, it increases the cost of opponent’s spells by 1 as long as it is in play. A clear variation of the original apprentice.
The Ice Walker costs 2 mana and has solid stats of 1/3. However, it is likely to be the new hero in the Frost deck, as its passive effect causes the hero power to freeze additionally hit targets.
The new legendary minion for Shamans is Moorabi. With mana costs of 6 and 4/4 stats, it is relatively weak, but has an interesting effect. Whenever another minion is frozen, the Shaman receives a copy of that minion!
In accordance, the new Shaman spell Cryostasis grants a minion +3/+3 for 2 mana, but also puts it into the “Frozen” state, causing it to miss its next attack.
For only 2 mana, a powerful spell awaits Warriors, which can have devastating consequences depending on strategy and card luck. Dead Man’s Hand copies the entire hand of the Warrior and shuffles those copies into the deck.
Defile is a new spell for Warlocks that packs a punch and will result in spectacular combos. The spell deals 1 damage to all minions on the battlefield. If a minion dies as a result, the spell is cast again. This repeats as long as no minion dies from the spell!
Priests are receiving a new way to bring a dead minion back onto the battlefield. The spell Eternal Servitude costs 4 mana and allows the Priest to discover a friendly minion that died this turn. That minion is then summoned.
Druids are getting Spreading Plague. For 5 mana, this spell summons a 1/5 Scarab with Taunt. If the opponent has more minions than the Druid, this spell is triggered again. It repeats until both players have the same number of minions.
The neutral legendary minion for today is Prince Valanar. For 4 mana, it comes with 4/4 stats and the following Battlecry: If your deck contains no cards that cost 4 mana, then Prince Valanar gains lifesteal and Taunt.
What do you think of these new cards? Too boring? Too powerful? Or just right to bring excitement to Hearthstone?
