New cards for Hearthstone have been presented. Especially Warlocks will get a powerful toy in their hands. But Mages can also be pleased.
The next expansion for Blizzard’s card game Hearthstone is titled “Conspiracy of Shadows” and will be released in a few days. As usual, streamers and professional players will reveal all cards in advance together with Blizzard. We want to briefly introduce you to a few new highlights here.
Warlocks will love the new spell Surprising Turn. For 2 mana, the entire hand of the Warlock is shuffled into the deck and then exactly as many cards are drawn as were previously in hand.
So if you have “only garbage” in your hand, you can try your luck and get a second chance to turn the game around. The more cards the player had in hand, the greater the chance of drawing something useful.
Everyone gets the neutral legendary minion Archmage Vargoth. For 4 mana, he only has stats of 2/6, but comes with a powerful effect. At the end of the player’s turn, a spell cast by the player is recast – with random target selection. With a Fireball, this might backfire (it could hit allies), but a Flame Strike would simply be doubled, dealing 8 damage to all enemies. Many interesting combinations await here.
Also intriguing is another Mage, a neutral minion. Big Bad Archmage costs a hefty 10 mana but has weak stats of 6/6. However, he compensates for this by summoning a random minion for 6 mana at the end of his owner’s turn. So if you don’t eliminate this card early, it will pay off quickly.
For those looking for an effective solution to clear out many small minions, the neutral minion Ramming Skull could be appealing. For 8 mana, Ramming Skull has stats of 3/12 and Rush. Additionally, he can attack again each time he kills a minion. If you manage to buff Ramming Skull when he appears, you can eliminate multiple strong enemies at once. Inner Fire from the Priest is particularly suitable for this.
Last but not least, Rogues also get a new legendary minion. The Goblin Tak Snoutbeard costs 7 mana and has stats of 6/6. His passive effect ensures that when a card is shuffled into the deck, a copy of that card is added to your hand. If you manage to combine this minion with the spell Knowledge Theft, you suddenly have 10 cards from the opposing class in hand for 1 mana.
The new expansion Conspiracy of Shadows will be released on April 9.
