After what feels like an eternity, Blizzard is now pulling the emergency brake. The popular Hearthstone deck of the Patron Warrior is being nerfed.
An Era Comes to an End
If you have taken the torture of climbing a few ranks in Hearthstone in the past days, you will mostly encounter one deck type: the Patron Warrior. This playstyle dominated the meta even before the last expansion and led to numerous “one-turn kills” that players could hardly counter.
The new cards from The Grand Tournament have not changed its dominance: Garrosh remains unchallenged at the top of the most annoying and effective decks with his grimy drinkers. Until now! Blizzard is mercilessly smashing the combo and nerfing the Warchief. This no longer grants charge to minions with 3 or less attack, but increases the attack of all minions that already have charge by 1.
The patch will go live next week. This will not only weaken the combination; it will simply become impossible. Warriors will soon have to find new ways to play successfully. Something tells me they will be playing Hunters very soon…
