The players of Un’Goro are upset. There are again way too many duplicates in the packs at Hearthstone.
Since last night (April 7, 2017), the latest Hearthstone expansion “Journey to Un’Goro” is live, and players can finally open their pre-ordered and earned card packs. But as the first players open their first dozen packs, strange incidents occur.
Again and again, the same cards are drawn from the packs, particularly notable is the Volcanosaur, which appears in every third or fourth card pack for many players.
A very similar problem occurred with the release of the last expansion “The Streets of Gadgetzan”. Here too, there was initially a massively increased chance of receiving “Triple-Class Cards,” and other rare cards were – well – significantly rarer.
The same mistakes as in Gadgetzan?
Something similar seems to be happening now, as many rare cards simply do not appear. There is – at least according to users in the forum – no trace of a fair distribution of cards in the packs.
On Reddit, comments are increasing that Blizzard is actively deleting posts in the official forum that address this issue. However, this has not been confirmed. Whether these incidents are really a bug or just “extremely bad luck” for some individuals is still hard to assess at this point.
A statement from Blizzard on this issue is still pending but is likely to come within the next few hours.
Our tip: Do not open any more packs until there is an official statement from Blizzard on this.

Blizzard responds
Update April 8, 20:45: The complaints have elicited a response from Blizzard: Community Manager Nik “Daxarri” Gianozakos says: They have heard the complaints about how many duplicates there are. He assures everyone in the Blizzard forum that they have looked into the matter. The distribution of cards in “Journey to Un’Goro” proceeds as planned. The distribution rates are in line with those of previous Hearthstone expansions. From Blizzard’s perspective, everything is fine and nothing is buggy.
