The next expansion of Hearthstone is approaching. The plot seems to lean towards the film “Suicide Squad”. Some of the most notorious villains from Hearthstone and WoW are gathering. Players will likely take on their roles.
This is how Blizzard hints at the next Hearthstone expansion: Blizzard has created video teasers surrounding the “Fortune Teller”. She looks into her cards and darkly predicts the future.
The Fortune Teller seems to intend to form a team of supervillains from the Hearthstone universe. This appears to consist of 5 members:
- She occupies the first spot herself
- The second spot is reserved for King Togwaggle, the old candle junkie. He is the king of all goblins.
- The other three spots are still open and will likely be revealed in further teasers

Who else could be included? For the third spot, fans are currently guessing Magatha Grimtotem. She is behind the death of Cairne Bloodhoof.
The world of Azeroth (and World of Warcraft) definitely lacks no further potential supervillains.
Update 13.3. 11:56 AM: Another villain is known and the 4th is almost confirmed:
- the 3rd will not be Magatha Grimtotem, but rather the wicked witch Hagatha
- and for the 4th, it is strongly assumed that it will be none other than Dr. Boom himself
Update 5:45 PM: Now the last ones are confirmed
- the 4th was indeed Dr. Boom
- and the 5th and actual mastermind is the villain Rafaam
In the solo adventure, will we play the villains?
A YouTuber believes: The Hearthstone expert Disguised Toast goes even further in his analyses of the teasers.
He believes that the team of supervillains is forming to launch an attack on Dalaran and the Kirin Tor. He claims to have found evidence in the previous information available about the expansion. In particular, the “9 wicked new heroes” seems to have prompted him.

He calls the expansion “Villains of Hearthstone.”
Apparently, one will play as villains in the “solo adventure.” Blizzard has already announced the return of classic solo adventures to Hearthstone, where players will again have to pay for access.
What do we know about the expansion? Currently, we don’t know much about the expansion.
However, it is certain that it will shake up the meta significantly as many cards will rotate out. With the beginning of a new year, cards from the year before last will disappear.
Additionally, Blizzard has announced that some cards will be completely removed and moved to the Hall of Fame.
Furthermore, Blizzard has announced that all players will receive a free card about a week before the expansion launches, which is meant to give a taste of the expansion.

In recent years, Hearthstone has lost momentum – let’s see, if Blizzard can reverse this trend with the 1st expansion of 2019.
Apparently, an announcement of the expansion is imminent. If the pace of the teasers continues, we should experience it next week or at the latest in the week after.
