Hearthstone provides new game material once again. The reveal of the latest expansion will take place in the coming days.
Although the developers of Hearthstone are quite satisfied with the current expansion “Journey to Un’Goro”, they are not taking a break. They have been working on the next expansion for months – and it will be presented in just a few days!
As part of the Hearthstone Spring Championships, the next expansion will be revealed on July 6 at 7 AM PDT – so we will receive the info on Friday morning, July 7.
What the next expansion could be about is still a complete mystery. There is only a small teaser image from the past that was used to illustrate the general release plan of the expansions.
Fans hope for Icecrown expansion
Back then, “Journey to Un’Goro” was already shown with some leaves from the jungle, which ultimately represented a hint. The next symbol is Arcane Runes, which resemble the Mage spell “Ring of Frost”.
Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that the new expansion will either have an Arcane or Frost setting. Since “One Night in Karazhan” is not that long ago, Frost seems more likely.
Most players suspect that the expansion is about Icecrown, or the Icecrown Citadel – as Hearthstone has remained relatively free from the influences of the Lich King, if we exclude the “small” necropolis Naxxramas.
Many players also hope that Blizzard might introduce the Death Knight as a new class, but the developers have repeatedly emphasized in interviews that there are currently no plans to introduce a new class.
