The anecdote texts in “Journey to Un’goro” by Hearthstone are great. Lots of references to “The Dinos” are included.
Most players will never take a close look at this feature, but every card in Hearthstone has a small anecdote text. Usually a short, funny sentence or a specific reference either to the real world or World of Warcraft. The new cards from “Journey to Un’goro” also have a lot of card texts that at least provoke a smile. We have presented our 10 favorites here.
The Tortollan Priestess is a turtle who apparently watched too much Ninja Turtles as a child: “Always on the lookout … and always a bit smarter.”
Thermal Springs Guardian: YOU CANNOT PASS (until you have thoroughly showered.)
Kalimos, Lord of the Primordials: Kalimos is often disturbed by juvenile elementals who ask him for the time and then start giggling uncontrollably.
Victim of Lakkari: “And what, Gul’dan, is required of us for that?” The warlock pulled back his hood and replied in a creepy voice: “Six cards …”
Egg Mother Zavas: Single mother with 300 children seeks partner to fall in love again. Later marriage not excluded.
Tar Lurker: What does a tar lurker do when he is bored? Wait and drink tar.
The Heart of the Fire Pillar: Whoever sows mockery will reap Sulfuras!
Terrorhorn Hatchling: “Sometimes there are moments when you should just hold back on the your-mom jokes …”
Volcano Elemental: “One volcano elemental to another: Did you know that rain is bad for us?” The other one replies: “Yes, you can count on that.”
Stegodon: The level 40 Tortollan paladins have a quest where they have to tame a stegodon. There are no level 41 Tortollan paladins.
And lastly, a quartet. The translator has evidently watched the old series “The Dinos” a lot – but who didn’t watch that as a child (or still does secretly today)?
Egg Thief: Not the mama!
Pterrordax Hatchling: I’m the baby! You have to love me!
Volcano Saurus: Again! Again!
Ultrasaurus: The long neck is mainly for peeking into the neighbors’ front yard.
