In Hearthstone , Blizzard is taking strong action. Numerous cards are being banned from the Arena! We have the details.
45 cards disappearing from the Hearthstone Arena
The developers of Hearthstone continuously try to improve the game in many ways and, above all, to make the different game modes a varied experience. One mode that has increasingly been a thorn in the developers’ side in recent weeks and months is the Arena. Particularly, mages and rogues are very powerful here, closely followed by paladins – all other classes lag behind. Because Blizzard wants to create more equality and fairness, some cards will be banned from the Arena with an upcoming patch. Blizzard stated:
“We would like to avoid removing powerful spells and weapons from the Arena because they create excitement and unpredictability in the match, regardless of the current state of the game board. We also want to avoid removing iconic cards, as they are generally versatile and popular with both newcomers and veterans alike. Additionally, we can remove weaker cards to make more room for the more frequently used cards that then appear more often when drawn in the Arena.”
The list of banned cards includes the following 45 class cards:
- Mage: Forgotten Torch, Frost Eater, Faceless Summoner
- Rogue: Goblin Barber-o-Mat, Champion of Undercity
- Paladin: –
- Shaman: Totem of Vitality, Dust Devil, Power of Totems, Ancestors’ Healing, Dunebreaker Shaman, Wind Speaker
- Warlock: Animagolem, Sacrificial Pact, Rafaam’s Curse, Demon Perception, Void Destroyer, Academy Archaeologist, Succubus (I’ll remember that)
- : Unruliness, Poison Seed, Soul of the Forest, Mark of Nature, Tree of Life, Astral Union
- Warrior: War Hymn Leader, Strengthen, Charge, Whirring Sawblade, Axe Thrower, Rampage, Ogre Bashing
- Hunter: Starving Buzzard, Call Companion, Forest Wolf, Cobra Shot, Loaded and Unsecured, Arrow Trap, Sharpshooting
- Priest: Mind Blast, Shadow Bombardier, Lightwell, Power Word: Glory, Confusion, Conversion, Inner Fire
Mein-MMO says: Even though this is a pretty big step, it doesn’t represent a complete change. Already, some cards are not available in the Arena, such as most C’thun cards or “Purifications” from the Priest. Nevertheless, some of the decisions seem inscrutable to me, as the Priest gets hit again with these cuts – but maybe I’m just a fan of the Lightwell.
