We show you three decks that will help you to get started in the Hearthstone expansion “Rastakhan’s Rumble”.
The new expansion for Hearthstone has been released for a few days now. With 135 new cards, Rastakhan’s Rumble offers plenty of potential for new deck ideas that can give your opponents a hard time. For those who don’t want to search for solid decks themselves, we would like to present three solid variants here. Some new cards are included, and these decks have proven to be quite promising so far.
Priest Deck: Bwonsamdi’s Gallery
Deck List:
Arcane Dust Cost: 13820
Priests now have access to the powerful Bwonsamdi with Rastakhan’s Rumble, which allows them to draw minions costing 1 from the deck until their hand is full. In combination with the Spirit of the Dead, which transforms dead friendly minions into 1-mana copies and puts them back into the deck, there are particularly many simple “One Turn Kill” combinations possible.
Through Prophet Velen and Malygos, the damage of a single Mind Blast can be increased to over 60 damage.
How to Play the Deck? It is especially important to play the Spirit of the Dead at the right moment to create many strong 1-mana minions that Bwonsamdi can later benefit from. If the opponent cannot deal with the board and leaves large minions like Velen, Malygos, or the Lich King on the field, you can of course win prior.
Otherwise, you wait for the combination of Bwonsamdi and the 1-mana variants of Malygos and Velen to clear the board with Mind Blast and Holy Fire.
Warlock Deck: Budget Zoo Warlock
Deck List:
Arcane Dust Cost: 1400
Not every player has a lot of time or wants to spend a lot of money on Hearthstone. But you can still have some fun with cheap decks without breaking the bank. This deck may not be the optimal choice, but it is an affordable variant to simply try out the Warlock.
How to Play the Deck? Generally, this Warlock plays like almost all “Zoolocks”. You try to get as many minions on the board as quickly as possible and aim to win before the opponent can execute their strategy. The new cards used here are merely Cruel Sacrifice and Spirit of the Bat. The Cruel Sacrifice buffs all minions on the Warlock’s board, while the Spirit of the Bat may take some tempo from the deck but scores big in the upcoming turns and buffs cards in hand.
However, the chances of winning decrease with this deck the longer a match lasts. Those who already have better cards can naturally swap them out for others in the deck. Newcomers or thrifty players should be well advised with this deck.
Hunter Deck: Kripp Zul’jin Spell Hunter
Deck List:
Arcane Dust Cost: 5240
Hunters have long relied on their strong minions, as wild beasts often come with special abilities. In the last expansions of Hearthstone, this has changed, and solid “Spell Hunters” are appearing more frequently. One of these is the “Zul’jin Spell Hunter” deck from the well-known streamer Kripparian, which brings joy to many players. It focuses on many spells and the new legendary Hunter card Zul’jin.
How to Play the Deck? Although the deck contains only spells, there are of course several ways to summon minions. Cards like the Animal Companion or the Hero Power from the Deathstalker Rexxar create numerous minions. However, you will likely deal most damage with spells while simultaneously keeping the opponent’s board small.
The deck relies on two larger finishers, namely the bow Rhok’delar from Kobolds and Catacombs and the new hero card Zul’jin. This allows you to cast all spells you have played once again, albeit with random targets. Since traps and animal companions don’t have a “random target”, Zul’jin quickly creates a strong board that most enemies cannot handle anymore.
