The German-speaking Twitch streamer LetsHugo has surprisingly announced that he is taking an indefinite break. He plans to see a therapist and sort out personal matters to improve his health and well-being.
Who is LetsHugo? The Luxembourgish streamer, known for his entertaining and humorous style, has built an impressive fan base in the German-speaking world. With over 900,000 followers on Twitch, he even surpasses the population of his home country.
The 21-year-old dropped out of school after the ninth grade to fully pursue streaming. Initially starting with a small audience of about ten viewers, he quickly gained popularity through regular streams of games like Minecraft and Just Chatting.
By October 2022, several hundred viewers regularly followed his streams. His breakout moment came in March 2023 by participating in the “No Food Challenge” hosted by his colleague Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler.

Announcement of an Unexpected Break
What does the streamer say about his break? Despite his longstanding activity on Twitch and steady success, LetsHugo has now made a surprising decision: he is taking a break.
On July 4, 2024, he informed his fans via WhatsApp, where 21,000 people follow him, about his plans. In his post, he wrote that he wants to withdraw for a few days or weeks because he is not feeling well at the moment. “Overall, I’m not crazy perfect right now, but I think you’ve known that for weeks,” explained the streamer.
The exact duration of his break is uncertain – it is supposed to last until he feels better.
What reasons has he given? LetsHugo did not go into detail about the reasons for his break in his announcement. He merely stated that several factors contributed to his decision.
In a long conversation with his colleague and friend Kevin, known as Papaplatte, LetsHugo came to the conclusion that he would seek a therapist during his break.
Users Suspect His Brother is Involved
What does his brother have to do with it? In his WhatsApp post, LetsHugo emphasized that his break has nothing to do with a current issue he wants to clarify privately. This statement led to speculation among his fans, especially on Reddit.
A user named Craftplorer wrote: “Is this even about Kevin? You could also read it as he’s wanting to clarify something privately and talked to Kevin as a counselor. EDIT: It’s probably about his brother. He also talked about it in his last stream!”

What has happened between him and his brother? The current issue that LetsHugo wants to clarify privately may concern a conflict with his brother, who also streams under the name ByTobi.
During a livestream at TwitchCon, his brother filmed as LetsHugo walked by in the background and gave a middle finger towards the camera.
The apparently complicated relationship of the brothers has been a topic in their streams and in the community from time to time. For instance, there was already excitement in July 2023 when LetsHugo walked past ByTobi in a clip and seemingly ignored him.
In a statement on TikTok, the streamer explained that he did not see his brother at all. He also wants to keep his family out of his content; people should just let him and his brother do their thing.
This situation escalated again in recent days as it regained attention through viral TikToks. Despite the heated atmosphere, LetsHugo stated that his break has nothing to do with this incident and that he wants to clarify this matter privately.
In September of last year, LetsHugo announced that he wanted to slow down a bit. However, at that time it was due to problems with his physical health. More about this can be found here: 20-year-old has streamed daily on Twitch for 4 years, now says: “I can’t do this anymore”
