The Division 2 offers a huge game world set in a part of Washington D.C. It’s not only filled with loads of activities but also numerous street art images. We show you 10 cool graffiti.
Where do the images come from? The many graffiti come from real artists who specialize in street art. Each image comes from a different creator.
The graffiti are spread all over the game world and feature a variety of crazy motifs. We’ve selected some cool ones for you that many of you probably haven’t noticed yet.
Washington D.C. after the outbreak

This graffiti shows: This three-part graffiti gives an impression of how Washington D.C. has changed due to the downfall.
- The first image seems to symbolize the greed that led to the outbreak of the virus. At least, that’s how some characters in the game see it.
- The deadly “Dollar Flu” spread around the world quickly via banknotes.
- This could represent the second image. In the last graffiti, you can see the devastating effects of the virus and how it brought death and quarantine to people.
The decay of the old
This graffiti shows: This work fits with the story of the previous images. It depicts an overgrown White House being attacked by strange, leaf-like colossi.
It may show the decay that the city has experienced since the collapse. Nature is reclaiming the habitat of humans and is overtaking even the buildings where many of the world’s most powerful people once ruled.
The strange bird

This graffiti shows: The image was shared by Reddit user dynarush_3. It features a very human-like constructed bird, covered from head to toe in tattoos.
Hard to say what the artist wanted to convey with this image.
The Angry Bird from The Division 2

This graffiti shows: The image features a special version of an Angry Bird. You probably already know the funny birds from the games where you shoot pigs with birds.
The Division 2 seems to have a fondness for birds of all kinds.
The next strange monster
This graffiti shows: The strange image depicts a large, bizarre creature. It has at least six arms, most of which are different from one another. Some of them are tentacles with suckers. Below the “mouth” are two X symbols.
Above the monster is a barely recognizable person apparently holding a fishing rod with bait. The monster reaches out with strange hands for this rod.
Below are some writings, one of which says “RIP THE SYSTEM”, kill the system. The image apparently comes from Brandon Sopinski. On his website, you can find more cool street arts.
A sad world

This graffiti shows: The earth is female, a tear runs down her cheek. The image is likely a reference to the state of the world. Whether it’s ours or that of the Division universe remains open.
Part 3 of the strange graffiti birds

This graffiti shows: This image was created by Reddit user challenged_idiot. It depicts a crazy robo-bird that could also pass for a raven or crow.
Unfortunately, it’s not clear who created this image. Similar to the previous work, the robo-creature has multiple arms. In the center, there is also a similar X symbol.
Hope lives in the campus

This graffiti shows: If you haven’t looked closely at the settlements yet, you might have missed some things. Including this huge mural in the campus settlement.
It shows happy children and adults, fitting the atmosphere there. It likely serves as a symbol of hope for the survivors.
Captain America’s evil brother?
This graffiti shows: In this crazy image, a man who looks like a caricature of Marvel’s Captain America rides a strange winged creature with a red mask.
Hanging from one hoof of the creature is a red head of a man wearing glasses and looking rather displeased.
The crazy version of Captain America has drawn a knife and seems to be calling for an attack.
This is modern art

This graffiti shows: For a change, we have a more colorful image here, simply showing random patterns and splashes. It’s easy to overlook as it is hidden on a wall of a building that can only be accessed via a roof.
Graffiti are not just decoration
The street arts are not just there to beautify the game world. They are also part of the secrets of the game that were kept hidden even from many developers while The Division 2 was in development.
They are part of some puzzles you must solve to find the 12 Hunter masks. Here’s what an example solution looks like:
However, there have also been issues with one of the many graffiti. In a specific case, Ubisoft had to adjust an image to remove a possibly homophobic line.

There were also great graffiti in The Division 1
Even in the predecessor, the game world was filled with cool images. However, it was the snowy New York. Even then, the graffiti were created by street art artists.
