After the crash problems that many PS4 players faced in Anthem, Patch 1.0.3 was released a few days ago. Has the update fixed the issues?
What’s in the update: With Patch 1.0.3 Anthem released a comprehensive update on March 9, addressing numerous bugs and issues.
The feedback is somewhat overshadowed by the heated discussion about loot. However, the question remains: What is the status of the PS4 crashes, one of the biggest problems Anthem has faced so far?

The situation regarding the PS4 crashes is unclear
In recent weeks, the biggest topic surrounding Anthem has been the problem with the numerous crashes that plagued Xbox and especially PS4 players.
But what about the crashes? It’s very difficult to determine, as many reports of new bugs and errors have surfaced since the update.
Since the patch, there seem to be no new reports of severe PS4 crashes. Amid all the feedback and especially the criticism of the last update and changes to loot, nothing concrete can be found regarding the PS4 crashes.
However, since there hasn’t been a major outcry, one can at least assume that it is not occurring on a large scale anymore.
The situation needs to be monitored further to see if new hard crashes can occur.
These were the problems on the PS4: Since the VIP demo, the PS4 version of Anthem has experienced massive console crashes. Players complained not only about “normal” crashes.

The PS4 reacted more as if the power had been cut during a crash. After the crash, the console was temporarily unresponsive, even the controllers did not respond.
Some players had to start the console in safe mode and reset it to get it working again.
Individual fans even reported that Sony supposedly refunded the game. However, more serious were reports that claimed that PS4 consoles had even been destroyed. Bioware and EA responded and requested data from the affected players.
Electronic Arts eventually denied the rumor that consoles were destroyed. They stated that not a single case of an irreparably damaged PS4 was reported.

Patch potentially brings new problems
These problems exist after the update: In the Anthem subreddit, many players are complaining about new annoyances:
- Longer loading screens than before
- Crashes on all platforms
- Walls blocking missions and not progressing to the next section
- Error messages
- Connection loss during missions
This list is still much longer and shows that Bioware has a lot of work ahead.
However, the feedback is not all negative. Many praise the increased damage output:
