The Order of the Phoenix is a secret society in Harry Potter, founded by Dumbledore to combat Voldemort and his Death Eaters. But who are actually the most powerful members?
What distinguishes the Order of the Phoenix? The secret society consists of witches, wizards, and other magical beings. Members often risk their lives to counter Voldemort and protect Hogwarts as well as innocent Muggles.
There is the 1st Order, which was active during the first war (1970s) against Voldemort, and the 2nd Order, which reassembled after Voldemort’s return in 1995. The Order has its headquarters at 12 Grimmauld Place, the former home of Sirius Black.
Only adult witches and wizards who are at least 17 years old and no longer attend school may become members of the Order of the Phoenix.
How was the ranking created? The ranking was created by MeinMMO author Fabienne Kissel. She has long been a big Harry Potter fan and belongs to Hufflepuff House. Every year she revisits the films.
Little note: In this ranking, we focus on the members of the 2nd Order.
Caution Spoiler: Various events from films and books are spoiled.

Place 7: Sirius Black

Sirius Black was an important fighter in the Order of the Phoenix, both in the first and second wars against Voldemort. In the first war, he fought alongside James Potter and the other Order members against the Death Eaters. After being falsely accused of betraying the Potters and sent to Azkaban, he later escaped and ultimately rejoined the Order.
Sirius is a skilled duelist and knows many spells that assist him in combat. His Animagus ability – to transform into a large black dog – has saved his life multiple times. He brings a wealth of knowledge about dark magic from his relatives and is well-acquainted with the Death Eaters’ strategies.
Especially in the battle in the Department of Mysteries, he showcased his skills before tragically being killed by his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange. He was a powerful wizard, an experienced duelist, and a loyal friend and ally in the fight against Voldemort.
Place 6: Remus Lupin

Remus Lupin is a strong and important member of the Order of the Phoenix because he acts selflessly despite many personal challenges. As a werewolf, Lupin has had a difficult life, often being marginalized and constantly having to deal with his dangerous side. Nevertheless, he has never lost his sense of justice and uses his talents to help others.
Lupin is a strong wizard, particularly in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and was a highly valued teacher at Hogwarts. Even though he sometimes doubts himself, he repeatedly shows great courage to protect his friends and the Order.
In the second war, he served as a spy for the Order. He lived among the werewolves and tried to convince them to join Dumbledore’s side. This was difficult, however, as many werewolves were afraid of the Death Eater Fenrir Greyback.
Place 5: Kingsley Shacklebolt
Kingsley Shacklebolt is an incredibly important part of the Order of the Phoenix. As a high-ranking Auror, he brings outstanding skills in the fight against the Dark Arts and impresses with his calmness and composure in critical situations. His missions for the Order were often risky, as he worked undercover in the Ministry of Magic and passed on important information to his comrades without ever arousing suspicion.
Kingsley is also a loyal and brave fighter. He was one of the Aurors who safely escorted Harry from Privet Drive, warned the guests of the Weasley wedding with his Patronus of the Death Eaters, and fought bravely in the Battle of Hogwarts. After Voldemort’s downfall, he became Minister for Magic and worked with Harry, Ron, and Hermione to reform the Ministry and free it from corruption.
