7. Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson
The proud Slytherins Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson are always at the forefront when it comes to nasty remarks towards Gryffindor. Both are among the popular students in their house and are appointed prefects in their fifth year. It is no wonder that they were a couple during their school years.
However, their relationship was never characterized by much warmth. Especially Draco seemed to view the partnership more as a status symbol, without being genuinely interested in Pansy as a person. Ultimately, he marries someone else, a woman named Astoria Greengrass.
Their date at the Yule Ball was overall fitting, even though they ultimately don’t really belong together. They land solidly in seventh place.
6. Hagrid and Olympe Maxime

Hagrid and the headmistress of the French wizarding school Beauxbatons, Olympe Maxime, are mainly connected by their special heritage. Both are half-giants.
During Maxime’s stay at Hogwarts, a love affair begins to unfold between the two. Hagrid is noticeably nervous about the ball and tries to dress up for his lady love.
While it could have been a sweet story, it ends abruptly when Hagrid brings up Madame Maxime’s heritage. Unlike him, she hides her background to avoid discrimination.
Despite this argument, there were truly heartwarming moments between the romantically awkward gamekeeper and the resolute headmistress, including a heartfelt dance. Thus, they have earned the sixth place on this list.
5. Fleur Delacour and Roger Davies

Fleur Delacour, the school champion for Beauxbatons, and Ravenclaw Roger Davies are both very attractive and popular students. At the ball, they sneak away to exchange affectionate kisses in a more secluded area.
It seems that the two indeed had fun and made a lovely couple, even though Fleur later ends up with Bill Weasley. As a Yule Ball couple, they rank fifth.
4. Neville Longbottom and Ginny Weasley
Neville and Ginny are not a romantic couple. Rather, they need each other. Since Ginny is not yet in her fourth year, she may only attend the ball with an older companion. On the other hand, Neville is very shy and is glad to have a ball partner.
Together, the two friends have so much fun at the ball that they dance late into the night. This wonderful friendship has rightfully earned them the fourth place on this list.
