Quidditch Champions was announced back in April 2023, but the public was supposed to see very little of the game until now. However, the second gameplay leak is now online and shows a complete match.
Quidditch is a fast-paced broom sport in the fantasy universe of Harry Potter. Players chase different balls on flying brooms – always with the goal of throwing the large Quaffle into the goals or finding the small, golden Snitch, which ends the match immediately.
For several years, the rights holders at Warner Brothers have been working on a game to replace the Harry Potter football. However, there is still no release date. But there have been several tests and play sessions that were evidently conducted under a confidentiality agreement.
Now, the gameplay of a whole match has been leaked. Here you will find the links to the videos as well as explanations of what can be seen.
The “Harry Potter” universe already had a hit in 2023 with Hogwarts Legacy. Quidditch was a theme there but was not played:

However, keep in mind: These are leaks. Things change during development, and the gameplay in the videos of Quidditch Champions was not meant for the public. The game may look very different in the end.

What do the videos show? They show:
- A flyaround of the stadium
- The customization options for your character
- Team / role selection screen
- Short warm-up
- A complete match
- Teammate catches the Snitch
- Victory screen
When selecting your character, you can also take a look at the possible player roles. Here are the known roles:
- Chaser
- Keeper
- Beaters
- Seeker
At the start of the game, it becomes clear that Quidditch Champions does differ from the original rules of the fantasy series: Only 5 players start in a match, while it is actually 7. Many known elements are visible during the match, albeit somewhat simplified.
This way, you take the ball from opponents when you bump into them. There are also dodging options. A boost bar provides extra speed. It can be recharged by catching a pass or by following displayed routes.
The match ends either when time runs out or when a player catches the golden Snitch. However, it apparently does not guarantee victory directly, but only gives 30 points, instead of the usual 150 that would suffice for victory.
What else is there to know? On the website of Quidditch Champions, there is already an FAQ about important questions, which is still quite incomplete (via quidditchchampions.com).
There is neither a release date, nor is it clear on which platforms the game will be released. The PC has been confirmed, consoles may follow – or may not. Additionally, it is a multiplayer game.
