What was the ranking based on? When a book with several hundred pages is summarized in less than 160 minutes of film, a lot has to be cut, that’s for sure.

Rank 10: The Department of Mysteries
The end of part 5 takes place in the Department of Mysteries. Harry and his friends rush to the Ministry of Magic to rescue the supposedly endangered Sirius. We see the huge hall with the prophecies and later the room with the archway. Unfortunately, the film does not really manage to capture and explain the mysterious aspect of this place.
Because in the Department of Mysteries, the Ministry of Magic keeps dangerous magical objects and researches fundamental magic. Even the entrance is mysterious. It occurs through a room with numerous doors that quickly move in a circle upon entering the room to confuse unwanted visitors.
The individual rooms are each dedicated to fundamental themes and house partly peculiar artifacts. For instance, there is a room that has a giant glass basin in the middle, where brains are swimming. There, thoughts are explored.
Furthermore, there is a room of time, love, planets, and also death. The latter contains the ominous archway known as the “Veil of Death.”
Rank 9: Harry Sponsors the Weasleys
At the beginning of part 5, we learn that the Weasley twins have opened their own joke shop. But how did Fred and George manage to raise the money for it?
In the books, we find out that it was none other than Harry who sponsored the two. He gives them the prize money he won at the Triwizard Tournament.
Due to Cedric’s tragic death, Harry did not really feel like a winner and did not want to keep the money. He initially offered it to Cedric’s family, who refused. So he gave it to Fred and George instead, allowing them to fulfill a lifelong dream.
Rank 8: Harry Repairs His Wand
When Harry and Hermione are on the hunt for Horcruxes in part 7, Hermione has an accident. A rebounding explosive curse breaks Harry’s wand.
Since Ron’s snail incident, we know that it is almost impossible to repair a broken wand. But a wand is so powerful that it can make the impossible possible: the Elder Wand. And as we know, Harry will later come into possession of this Elder Wand.
For many book lovers, it was a painful scene when Harry simply breaks the Elder Wand in the last film. In the book, however, he repairs his loyal wand before placing the Elder Wand in Dumbledore’s grave.
