In League of Legends, the Twitch streamer Tyler1 is considered something like the neighborhood bully. However, a gift from the Korean mega-team SKT1 suddenly makes the usually tough Twitch troll seem rather cuddly.
Who is Tyler1? The muscular streamer is one of the most popular entertainers in the LoL streaming community. Tyler1 was banned for almost 2 years and was viewed by Riot Games as someone they didn’t want anymore in League of Legends due to his endless toxicity.
However, the streamer launched a campaign claiming he was now “back on the right path” and “reformed.” In recent years, he has established himself as one of the largest global streamers for League of Legends.
With 2.4 million followers, “loltyler1” ranks 20th among Twitch channels with the most followers.
Tyler1 is quite a character on Twitch and rarely shies away from a conflict. A LoL employee was even fired for letting himself be provoked by Tyler1, to the point of insulting him badly.
MAMA, how much mail do I have?
So the story goes: Tyler1 apparently came home after 8 months and expected a huge pile of fan mail because people constantly tell him they have sent him something. But Tyler1 was disappointed.
He recounts: “I came home and shouted, ‘Mama, how much mail do I have?!’ And it turned out to be only two boxes.
“Only two boxes,” Tyler1 exclaims incredulously at the camera. “Really only two boxes – I was gone for 8 months!”
This was the special gift: Live on camera, Tyler then opened a package. And it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
Because the Korean mega-team of League of Legends, SKT1, the three-time world champions, had sent the US streamer a package filled with promotional gifts.
They apparently expected Tyler1 to open the package during the Korean MSI, the “Mid-Season-Invitational.” However, Tyler1 missed the date.
The highlight of the gift is a letter that said, “T1 acknowledges T1.”
The package contained merchandise from the mega-team, a signed jersey from SKT1, a cap, and even two figures:
- One of the figures depicts Faker, the star player of League of Legends
- another figure shows Tyler1 himself.
On reddit observers note somewhat mockingly that Tyler1’s figure is slightly larger than Faker’s, but Faker is missing a foot.
Tyler1’s reaction, however, is truly impressive.
