For weeks, several LoL teams have been competing in the German Strauss Prime League for first place. On June 21, Eintracht Spandau faced Schalke 04, the two remaining top teams. In a game that was balanced for the most part, the team of HandOfBlood managed to prevail in the end because they completely shut down the opposing AD-Carry.
How did the season go in the Prime League?
- The Strauss Prime League is the highest German-speaking league in LoL. Here, the teams face off that will later represent us in the EU Masters against other regional leagues. In November 2021, YouTuber HandOfBlood announced that he would start with his own team in this league: Eintracht Spandau.
- Right in the Spring Split, they secured a strong 2nd place, which was also defended in the playoffs. However, the team was eliminated in the group stage of the first EU Masters.
- In early June, the Summer Split started. There, the top was closely contested over several weeks. Eintracht Spandau even briefly changed their name to ensure they were displayed as first in the standings.
- Before the 7th matchday, there were still two teams tied for first place: Schalke 04 and Eintracht Spandau both had five wins and one loss. The winner would therefore take the sole lead in the standings.

How did the match go? The first 20 minutes were very balanced. Schalke 04 even gained a slight advantage, with about 4,000 gold ahead at minute 17. However, a risky tower dive in the bot lane and a lost team fight at minute 21 marked the turning point.
Eintracht Spandau managed to secure a Baron and had an advantage in gold and on the map from then on.
What was particularly noticeable in the game was the focus on the opposing AD-Carry TakeSet. He played Jinx and was supposed to deal significant damage. However, TakeSet was eliminated so quickly in every team fight that he ended the match with 0 kills and 0 assists. He was thus not involved in any of his team’s 8 kills.
What does the table look like now?
- Eintracht Spandau leads the table with 6 wins and 1 loss
- The second place is shared by three teams: Schalke 04, BiG, and SK Gaming Prime, each with 5 wins and 2 losses
- In 5th place is Unicorns of Love: Sexy Edition with 4 wins and 3 losses
- Place 6 is shared by MOUZ and E WIE EINFACH ESPORTS with 3 wins and 4 losses
- GamerLegion and Wave Esports both have 2 wins and 5 losses
- The last place is held by PENTA 1860 with 0 wins and 7 losses
On Thursday, June 23, the next matchday will take place. Matches of the league are held every Tuesday and Thursday. By July 28 at the latest, it will be clear which teams will qualify for the playoffs and then compete for participation in the EU Masters in the summer.
On average, 88,000 people watched the EU Masters in Spring 2022, and at peak, up to 290,000 were simultaneously in the streams (via Esports Charts).
They competed for a total prize pool of 167,000 euros.
